Show helps to support local non-profits
elta Theta Tau Sorority,
Zeta Lambda Chapter
in Shelbyville is
preparing for two holiday
fundraisers. Delta Theta Tau
Sorority is a Philanthropic
sorority founded in 1903 in
Muncie, IN. The Zeta Lambda
Chapter in Shelbyville was
founded in March 1938. Over
the past 77 years the group
has contributed to SCUFFY,
Salvation Army, Shelby County
Pantry Pals, Major Hospital,
D
Hospice of South Central
Indiana, Cancer Association,
Shelby Senior Services The
Zeta Lambda Chapter also gives
out five scholarships each year
to Shelbyville Central, Triton
Central, Waldron, Morristown
and Southwestern schools. In
addition, the group donates to
families in need at Thanksgiving,
Christmas and during times of
illness.
Each year, their major
fundraiser is the Gift and Hobby
Show at Shelbyville Middle
School. This year’s event marks
the 44th Annual Show and the
26th at Shelbyville Middle
School. This year’s Gift and
Hobby Show is taking place on
November 5th from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. There is no cost to attend.
The Chapter is asking visitors
to the show to bring a canned
good or non-perishable food
item to help stock Pantry Pals
shelves for the Thanksgiving
and Christmas season. Also,
there is a rumor that a jolly ole
man in a red suit will pay a visit
from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Delta Theta Tau also received an
autographed Colts football. They
will be selling raffle tickets and
draw after the Gift and Hobby
Show. Need not be present to
win. Please plan to join us!
