Pink Ladies Day
Sunday the 22nd of September 2013 marked MDORC’s second Pink
Ladies’ Day Fund Raiser and trust me the ‘ladies’ were out in force; we
were all confronted with a menagerie of men dressed in shades of pink,
their unshaven legs on show and ready to raise funds for the Cancer
Council of Queensland.
Our trip leaders, Helen and David, presented us with our fund raising tins,
badges and car signs (authenticating our charity run) and then we were
off to raise monies and humiliate our menfolk.
Our first stop was the Mount Glorious coffee shop, and whilst the men
were dressed in pink the trip was rated black, where many a bikie cast his
lingering eye on Peter’s hairy legs, Dave’s bosom and Evan’s elaborate
make up. The girls stood back and let the ‘ladies’ take the lead and rattle
their tins and strut their stuff.
With tins rattling we headed down the range
to lunch at the dam and the awards where
Peter was awarded best dressed car and
Sean and Evan were awarded best dressed
man and child respectively.
It was then decided that we would confront

Kilcoy residents and raise more funds at the
local Exchange Hotel. The locals were wide
eyed and jaws dropped when we entered – a collection of pink misfits
rattling tins and ordering beers at the bar. A particularly priceless moment
when a local on a Harley looked Tracy up and down, then Peter, and
