hat do summer parties look like for Justine Schofield? As a food media star who came to our attention on the first season of MasterChef Australia and has recently finished filming the 15th season of her own cooking show Everyday Gourmet, it’ s no surprise all her gatherings revolve around delicious eats.
When it comes to the festive season, Justine loves a long, leisurely lunch.“ It’ s always a late lunch,” she says.“ A cross between lunch and dinner so we can enjoy the sunset.” Instead of serving food in classic buffet style, she suggests bringing out dishes slowly, with nibbles and champagne to start, followed by oysters and then spacing out the entree, main and dessert.
There’ s no need to manage the feast yourself – getting together with Justine means all her loved ones help out.“ I don’ t do all the cooking anymore!” she says. When planning holiday gettogethers there’ s a flurry of messages organising who is bringing what, from the friend who nails the perfect pavlova to someone who prefers to simply pick up the fresh seafood. According to Justine, no matter the skill level,“ there’ s no reason why everyone can’ t get involved.” >
