What is the Health & Wellness Committee ?

The inaugural Health and Wellness Committee is composed of Jack Rice , Cochair , Ed Ricci , Co-chair , Andrew Lockton , Roger Feicht , Eric Bielefeldt , and Angela Misch and has been tasked to “ raise the bar ” for the physical and mental wellbeing of our legal community through initiatives that encourage a balanced lifestyle and ensure our members are fit to practice personally and professionally .
It ’ s no secret that the practice of law often involves stress , late-night fast-food runs , and lots of sitting ( we get it , standing deskers — but not everyone can be like you ). It ’ s also no secret that exercise , a healthy diet , and in-person human interaction can help mitigate the all too common physical and mental strains legal professionals face . But who has the time and energy to implement these solutions ( and others ) with everything else we have on our plate ? The Health and Wellness Committee is here to help !
The Health and Wellness Committee was created with the intention of providing our members with a goto resource for all things health and wellness , including organized physical activity ( think organized run / walks , pickleball tournaments , spin classes , etc .), book / podcast / article recommendations focused on mental and physical wellbeing , discounted gym membership opportunities , and healthy food and drink recipes .
Not only will the Health and Wellness Committee organize its own events , it will also coordinate with other Bar committees and Sections to support existing active-lifestyle programming .

Please feel free to email us your healthy food and drink recipes , fun food swaps ( think Greek yogurt in place of sour cream-trust us ; it ’ s delicious ), and physical activity suggestions . We will share our best finds in future Bulletins — along with our scheduled activities — so please stay tuned !
