Welcome to the 2020-2021 Season ! Well , we are finally here and very excited to see you . Although some may join us a little later , we will still be running a program that ’ s full of fun events , comprehensive golf instruction , and a golf shop full of great merchandise !
Our Ladies and Men ’ s Day will be in full swing and we hope you can join us every week ! These events are a great way to meet other Members , but also a way to test your golf abilities . Men ’ s Day will play each Tuesday and include a special format with optional “ Skins ” as well . New this season we will be enhancing the pairings and handicap allocation methods to fully encompass all handicap levels . “ Skins ” will be also be updated to adhere to the USGA guidelines . The Ladies will play each Thursday with friendly formats , always followed by a tasty lunch . Each event will be a shotgun start at 9:00am . Lady 9-Holers are encouraged to join the 18-Holers for lunch at 1:00pm followed by a quick tip from the Pro , then a relaxing 9 holes starting at 2:00pm . Come join the fun and camaraderie !
We would also like to mention our Invitationals and make sure you have the dates . The Ladies Invitational will occur on Thursday , March 4 and the theme this season will be “ Mulligans and Margaritas ”, ole ! It should be another great day and we look forward to the creativity our Ladies Invitational Committee brings every year ! The Men ’ s Invitational will be held from March 25-27 . We had a pause from 2020 but we expect to have a great time in 2021 and we hope you can join us . Start planning now ! Both Ladies and Men ’ s registration will open in early January .
This season , we will have a few new additions to the golf staff . Doug Rhea is our new Head Golf Professional , and third year staff member , Lance Krug , was elevated to our Second Assistant position after graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University with his PGA certification ! George Wade ( 19th year ) and Joe Bentivegna ( 3rd year ) will be back as well . For our outside staff , new faces will include Darrin Eby ( Cart Barn and brother of Club Manager Nicole Camp ), a Father-Son duo , Kevin & Kody Van Duser ( Starter & Cart Barn respectfully ), and taking care of the driving range this season will be Robert Blackburn and Nick Smith ( son of Director of Golf Scott Smith ). Kind of a family affair ! On behalf of the entire golf staff , we look forward to seeing you soon and having a funfilled season !
