Noun Clauses
A noun clause is a group of words (doing the work of a noun) with a
subject and a verb, that can be a subject, object, or object of a preposition in a
sentence. In other words, a noun clause is a clause that plays the role of a
noun.
For example:
• I like what I have.
• I want the yellow flower.
Below are other three examples.
•
I know Costa Rica.
• I've met Mary.
• I like oranges.
Costa Rica, Mary and oranges are functioning as nouns, making them noun
clauses.
