PWGA NOTES & QUOTES
Hello from
Redwood!
by Reecy Casamajor
Our year started like everyone
else with the Workshop in
February at Oakmont. Everyone
looked great in their red.
We had our TOCC at Eagle Vines
in Napa April 25 with a field of 32
and 7 following the field. It was a
beautiful day, just a bit windy.
Our Low Gross winner was Debbie
Ford from Blue Rock in Vallejo and
the Low Net winner was Carol
Anderson from Adobe Creek in
Petaluma.
The first full field event was at the
beautiful but difficult
Fountaingrove Country Club on
May 23. We only had 54 players
but the weather was perfect and
we always have a great lunch.
The low Gross winner was Lesley
Stewart from Rancho S olano and
the Low Net winner was Janice
Van Gutman from Foxtail.
We then moved on to our Team
Play Qualifier at Mare Island June
27. We had 16 teams with 6
getting to qualify for the Finals in
August. The teams that qualified
were Blue Rock, Ukiah, Rancho
Summer 2016
Solano, Northwood, Redwood
Empire and my team Bennett
Valley.
The remainder of the year we
have Foxtail – North in Rohnert
Park July 25, Windsor August 15,
Rooster Run in Petaluma
September 26 and finish the year
at beautiful Bodega Harbour
October 17. Feel free to contact
me if you are in the area and
would like to join us.
I also had the pleasure of
presenting a Jr. Grant check for
$300 to Piner High School here in
Santa Rosa. I sent a check for
$500 to Jesse Bethel HS in
American Canyon and made
arrangements to meet the coach
and team in August when school
starts since they were out of
school when I received the check.
I will be getting another one to El
Molino in Forestville – they are in
the next group we have to
approve.
That’s all for now from the
beautiful Redwood Area.

The Wildhawk Women's Golf
Club held their annual Wild
Wahine Luau Invitational on June
15, 2016. This year, through the
generosity of their members and
invitational participants, the club
was able to donate $1,800 to the
PWGA Junior Golf Grants
Program. Over the past 11 years,
they have now donated $17,300
to charity: $11,200 to the Susan
G. Komen Foundation through the
PWGA and $6,100 to the PWGA
Junior Grants Program. This
year's committee and all of their
members worked very hard to
raise funds by soliciting hole
sponsors and/or serving as a hole
sponsors themselves, as well as
donating cash and items towards
their raffle and donating food for
their morning breakfast. On the
day of the event, they raised
donations through the raffle,
selling mulligans and their very
popular, "Hula Boy Hole", where
for a $5 donation a player could
have the Hula Boy stationed at
Hole 18 drive her tee shot over
the creek; this hole alone raised
$710 and the raffle raised $2,200.
Thank you Wildhawk Women's
Golf Club for your generous
donation and hard work!
The Mather Women’s Golf
Club held their annual Lady
Liberty Invitational July 14th, 2016,
which raised $3000 for the UVS –
Swing Club. The Mather WGC has
