STUDENT FINANCE
Loans are available to cover both tuition fees and living costs. Your child will need to apply for student finance as soon as possible to ensure they are not starting university without receiving their student loan. More info on how to apply can be found here: bit. ly / ucas-student-finance
TOP TIPS
Encourage your child to speak with their careers team at school / college, as they will be able to offer advice on late applications. Go and visit campus to get a feel for the university your child is interested in. There are still open days taking place throughout May and June, or many universities offer virtual tours if you can’ t get there in person. You can search for these here: bit. ly / ucas-open-days If you are a foster carer supporting a young person in care through their university application, UCAS have a step by step guide to help with this: bit. ly / foster-carer-support, and don’ t forget to ensure they tick the box on their application to show they have been in care, as this will ensure they get any support they are entitled to.
