Do you check food labels at all, not necessarily for sugar?
No, I don't.
Do you think if you were better informed on the risks of sugar you would eat better.
Probably. It would be difficult for me but I would at least try.
In total, the participant had an average daily consumption of 70.6g. This is 1.089 lbs/wk OR 56.64lbs a year. In other words, 12.845 2kg bags of sugar a year, not incuding holidays and special occasions.
Although that seems like a lot compared to the 25g recommended a day, it it still 20g/day less than the average North American.
