Not Random Art (clone) | Page 24

Each material brings its own constraints and possibilities. Beside the black and the blind work whose main requirement is not to look at the artwork being created and thus allow a permanent risk taking, the work of the color as I practice it in a mixed technique random because of the travel of pigments before the stroke in India ink allows me to overcome this vision of color that made me see it as an absolute through a red in all its power, a yellow corresponding to the sun or a blue whose only shades went from a navy blue to a Mediterranean blue. In my polychromic artworks the variety of colors as tones symbolizes in combination of my line drawing all the strength of life that makes each human being unique.

How do you see the relationship between emotional and intellectual perception of your work? In particular, how much do you consider the immersive nature of the viewing experience?

My parents, whom I love so much, thought the drawing was not serious enough for a little boy. While studying Political Science and International Law, I nevertheless continued drawing in my exercise books and syllabi throughout my studies before finally studying Fine Arts from 1998 to 2008 in Leuven, Belgium. Very quickly because of my experience feelings and intellectual perception were part of my artwork and allowed me to go beyond the simple vision of the model to mean all humanity.

A rich family history of experience gained during the vagaries of history gave me a strong intellectual background that I integrate naturally in my artistic work. It is impossible for me to remain indifferent to political, social and cultural events, so I integrate them into my artisitc work that goes beyond mere aesthetics to prefer signifiance in efficiency.

hanks a lot for your time and for sharing your thoughts, Michel. Finally, would you like to tell us readers something about your future projects? How do you see your work evolving?

Thank you too for your interview. I am currently working on projects that will allow me to work in the near future to give even more significance to my artistic work as well as exhibition projects that I wish to realize on both sides of the Atlantic.
