WELCOME
to issue 2 of nosh magazine
There is currently a lot of chatter in the media with who
should and shouldn’t dispense nutrition advice, and
who readers should and shouldn’t believe when it comes
to healthy eating. For credible nutrition advice, seek out
a nutrition expert with appropriate qualifications. An
Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), for example, is
university-qualified and must complete ongoing
education for their APD credential to remain current.
An APD may call themselves a “nutritionist” but so too
can someone who has completed a two-day nutrition
course 10 years ago! To help you identify reliable food
and health related claims:
•
Don’t automatically believe the headline, or
what you read or hear.
•
Check that there is robust and current research
underpinning any claims that are made.
•
I look forward to hearing from you.
