Turning Dreams into Reality
Goal Setting & Goal Getting
So, here we are a few months out from an ‘all
inspiring’ Norwex Conference.
Last year’s 2017 Conference was all about goals –
how to make them, how to be accountable for them
and, most importantly how to achieve them. After
spending a weekend listening to some amazing Guest
Speakers and being in a room full of empowering
fellow Consultants I sat at breakfast on that last day
and set myself a goal with a year to achieve it. Back
to that a little later.
So, this year was all about your ‘why’. Why is it you
do what you do? What is it that drives you? What
motivates you? Again, after spending a weekend
listening to more Guest Speakers, and again being
inspired and empowered by all the amazing women
and a few men in the room, it was time to sit down
again and reflect on the weekend. To look inside to
think about MY ‘why’.
Why did Norwex call to me? What was it about
the products that sparked the fire in my belly
and wanted me to jump on board and share this
movement with everyone I know and everyone that
I was yet to know? What was ‘driving’ me, ‘pun
intended’, to go to that next party and do just that?
Over the time my ‘why’ has grown as have I. At
the start it was firstly about the money! We have a
house and bills to pay and who couldn’t use a little
extra cash? Then it was about the products – these
amazing little cloths that actually work and my
cleaning time has gone from being a half day job to
about an hour on the weekend or whenever I can fit
it in … And, there are no more harsh scary chemicals
around my home that can cause harm to me or my
family.
Now it is about how can I get these products into as
many people’s houses as I can. How can I encourage
and educate people to think about their health and
the environment in a new light? How can I ignite
that fire in someone else’s belly and spread the
Norwex Mission even further?
I believe I can do this by simply sharing my story,
opening myself up and letting people into my world,
and sharing the ideas and thoughts in my head.
So back to last year’s goal, I sat at breakfast on that
Sunday morning after that amazing weekend of
thought provoking, mind-blowing inspiration and
committed to a lady that I had just met, that we
would come back this year 20 kilos lighter. Well, 12
months on, I can proudly say that I returned this
year, not 20 but 45 kilos lighter which has taken
a lot of commitment and hard work but is one
incredible journey that I am loving being on. Now
while that goal was not Norwex related and while
my business has taken a little bit of a back seat the
last 12 months, I am a big believer that all things
happen for a reason. While undertaking my weight
loss and fitness journey and changing my physical
self I had no idea how much my mental self was
also being transformed, which my business will
hugely benefit from.
I am more confident within myself now, I speak up
in crowds – I don’t just hide in the corner. I have
input into conversations and I start conversations
with people I don’t know. There are now photos of
me! I have a new drive to learn, and a new passion
for health and the environment, and how I can help
others to understand the benefits of these.
So, while last year my business took a small back
seat, I believe that is how it was meant to happen
and now this year I can grow and share Norwex to
more people with more conviction than ever before.
Now I believe I am ready to share my story and
inspire others to make some small changes that will
improve so many aspects of their lives.
Now I believe it is my year to PARTY
