Product Spotlight S ome of our big chain supermarkets will soon stop offering free disposable plastic bags to shoppers in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and in Western Australia from the end of June. Did you know: On average, one family accumulates 60 plastic bags in only four trips to the grocery store. Plastic bags can take hundreds of years to degrade, releasing particles of toxic chemicals into our soil and water, polluting our planet and harming living organisms. One way we can help to eliminate the use of plastic bags and help the environment is our Reusable Grocery Bag with BacLock®. This reusable carry-all bag is the right size for a trip to the grocery store and strong enough to hold all your fruit, vegetables and other food staples. 6 WAYS TO REMEMBER YOUR REUSABLE BAGS 1. Keep your bags on a hook near your front door so you’ll see them. 2. Keep one set of bags in the boot of your car and one in your house – one is for walking and one is for driving shopping trips. (Just don’t forget to put your car set back in the car.) 3. Purchase (or make your own) bag that you can roll up and store in your purse. 4. Put a big reminder sign on the inside of your front door (or on a bulletin board near the door). “Remember Your Bags!” 5. Leave at least one bag on the passenger seat of your car as a visual reminder. 6. When you get to the store and get your trolley, make sure you have a bag to put into it. If you forgot, go back and get it. Next time, you’ll be more likely to remember! Rachael Whiting Product and Compliance Officer 20 Product Spotlight . Plastic Free Update
