Get to Know Home Office We welcome to the Team the lovely and vibrant Christine Jacobs, our new Finance Manager. Thank you for having a chat Christine, nice to find out some more about you … Tell us a bit about yourself I’ve been living in Australia (Brisbane) for nearly 8 years now and loving it. Before that, I was in London for about two and half years after leaving Johannesburg in South Africa. I’m a qualified CPA with two young girls, Amelia (5yrs) and Odette (4yrs). [and yes they are close together, that’s why I’m crazy and enjoy wine!] My parents and one brother (with his family) live in Rockingham in WA, so at least I get to call them at more decent hours than my inlaws in South Africa [not saying that’s a bad thing...]. I enjoy arts & crafts, sewing and succulent gardening in between raising the 2 little kids [and 1 big kid] and still squishing in some studying. I am most looking forward to working for Norwex as wildlife conservation has always been a big part of my life. My dad was a vet and a divemaster so I have been exposed to it most of my life [I’m guessing some of it took... my dad should be proud]. Norwex has a mission that is close to my heart and I must admit that these last few months have changed the way I do things at home drastically [and cleaning has become more fun, the kids are cleaning windows and hubby is interested too. Now who says cleaning isn’t fun?... especially when I don’t have to do it.] Norwex’s core values also align with mine and it will be, and is so far, wonderful to work for a company who reciprocates these. I look forward to learning new things, meeting new people and creating new friendships. 5 QUICK QUESTIONS What would be a perfect day for you? Painting or chilling at home with non-cranky kids and hubby (with a glass of cab sav). If you could invite anyone to dine with in the world, who would you choose? Sam Heughan... in his kilt. If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? Ability to freeze or speed up time (it would certainly help with month end and school runs) What’s on your bucket list? To go kayaking in Vancouver with the orca’s. What person has given you the best advice in life and what was it? My Mum... “If you don’t ask, you will never get.” (My kids are now repeating it back to me)! Home Office News . November 41
