Dr. Ron Myers, principal of Byron Nelson High School, made good on his bet with Principal Jason Childress of Northwest High School. After the Texans beat the Bobcats in football, Dr. Myers served lunch duty at Northwest. Chisholm Trail Middle School students earned a creativity award for their work at the Bell Helicopter Fort Worth Alliance Airshow’s STEM competition, which involved creating a helicopter platform for a landing and taking off. Thompson Elementary School fifth-grade teachers dressed up during their “Pirate Adventure” in which students used their math and navigational skills to read maps and find treasure. Members of the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels aerial performance group visited Eaton High School aviation students prior to the Bell Helicopter Fort Worth Alliance Airshow to discuss what it takes to be a good pilot or engineer. Elementary students across the district took part in the 21-Day Challenge, sponsored by Medical City Children’s Hospital, pledging to eat better.
