PICTURED AROUND Schools across the district celebrated Veterans Day by welcoming current and former military members into their schools to thank them for their service. Six district student-athletes qualified for the UIL Cross County State Championships, with Byron Nelson High School’s Cassidy Teuscher earning the top finish for the district, placing 18th in the girls 6A race in a time of 18:18.94. Northwest ISD was represented by 12 student-athletes who signed letters of intent to further their academic and athletic careers during the fall signing day. Businesses and organizations from across the community supported district students and teachers at the Northwest ISD Education Foundation’s recent golf tournament. 20 The Eaton Eagle football team advanced to the playoffs for the first time in school history in just the school’s second year with a varsity program. Northwest ISD’s high school marching bands and middle school bands performed as a group for the first time during the district’s Northwest ISD Band Showcase this fall. The event is a planned annual concert.
