To Our Community ,
Thank you for allowing the Northwest ISD Education Foundation to impact the lives of Northwest ISD teachers and students by continuously supporting our mission . NEF is a nonprofit organization that works with local businesses and community leaders to enhance the quality of education in Northwest ISD . Our goal is to generate funds and provide resources for innovative teaching grants and student scholarships .
The foundation ’ s innovative teaching grants allow educators to take a more creative approach to education and dream bigger . Student scholarships are awarded annually to help ensure Northwest ISD graduates continue their path to success , even after they leave the district . To date , NEF has funded more than $ 1.6 million in grants and more than $ 500,000 in scholarships !
Quality schools are essential to the strength and advancement of our communities . The district is home to 3,000 educators and more than 23,000 students . Your generosity enables them to experience innovation in the classroom , exposing them to limitless possibilities for their future ! Your continued support is crucial to meeting the needs of our ever-expanding , premier district .
Grants have been awarded for such programs as :
• Aquaponics : Tank to Table : Students will learn the full cycle of production agriculture . Cross uses of the program include working with Outdoor Learning Center as fish will stock ponds for biology and ecology students , horticulture students will experience production of farm-fresh vegetables and herbs from seed to harvest , and culinary students will have farm-to-table produce for training .
• Eaton Robot Heroes : Students in the Robotics program will have the resources to purchase start-up equipment . Robotics teaches students skills including engineering design , applied mathematics , marketing , technical writing , professional presentations , programming and coding .
• UIL Bound : Music students will be challenged by a wide variety of music , including full orchestra , which allows them to experience college-level literature and prepare them for scholarships and performance opportunities .
There are many opportunities to stay involved with NEF . Providing funding through sponsorship and donations , volunteering time on various committees , and attending events are all important ways you can contribute to the success of the foundation . Our biggest fundraising events , the Legends Golf Tournament and the Northwest Heritage Gala , are great opportunities to spark a partnership . Encouraging fellow business owners and colleagues to get involved is one of the greatest measures you can take to help NEF continue to grow !
