Additive manufacturing machines range from desktop-sized printers to large industrial-sized machines , with Triumph employing the use of both technologies . Triumph facilities have been using additive manufacturing for plastics for years ; creating proof-of-concept parts and testing tools at various facilities .

Triumph recently partnered with GE Additive to develop its metal additive capabilities and has acquired two of their machines . These machines have been installed at Triumph ’ s Redmond , Washington facility , which has been operating for 30 years and has approximately 125 employees . This facility works on new product development , focusing on landing gear and electro-mechanical systems ; it is also where Triumph ’ s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence ( AMCoE ) is located .
The AMCoE ’ s mission is “ to drive , align and advance additive manufacturing technology and application in support of the additive manufacturing globalization initiative across the Triumph landscape .” They are also developing the infrastructure to put additive parts into production and flying on commercial and military aircraft .
