We recognize that the news of the 787 consolidation is disappointing for many in Puget Sound . However , it is important to note that Boeing has a long history and bright future in Washington State .
Puget Sound is the home of our largest number of employees , and the exclusive final assembly location of the 737 , 747 , 767 , and 777 airplanes and their military derivatives . In recent years , Boeing has invested billions of dollars in Washington , including the Composite Wing Center in Everett where our team manufactures the world ’ s largest composite wings for the 777X , and the Workforce Readiness Center in Auburn which houses training and certification programs for Boeing employees .
Additionally , Boeing ’ s ongoing emphasis on workforce development programs including Core Plus in high schools and technical colleges and the Learning Together Program supporting our employees ’ ongoing education remains strong . Our charitable investments are deep and evolving as well , whether focused on wildfire relief efforts or social justice and racial equity . Even in difficult times like these , Boeing continues to invest in our — and our community ’ s — future here in Washington .
These are challenging days and we must get through them in order to realize the brighter future ahead .
