H
ighwood Global is picking
up projects internationally and has
recently shipped completed projects
to Canada, Argentina, Chile, Peru,
Jordan, and Australia — in addition to
U.S. locations.
Like most manufacturing companies,
they can have trouble filling open posi-
tions due to skills gaps in certain areas.
One of the more difficult positions to
fill is that of welder/fitters, because
five years of experience is required
and welders need to know how to read
blueprints. Owens said, “We will train
people with potential and will take
them to certifications.” The company
is committed to talent development
and even runs classes in-house for
welders, adding skills not learned in a
standard welding program.
Their in-house expertise also includes
wet paint and powder coating, but
there are some things, like anodizing,
for which they partner with another
local company.
Highwood Global, LP is a modern-day
manufacturer working to expand. With
their space, despite being previously
inhabited by zombie actors, they have
capacity and room to continue building
a successful manufacturing company
in Spokane.
