While special state incentives have been leveraged and the commitment to developing skilled workforce is alive and well , there are a couple of fundamentals . At a time when so much is changing , new strategies are being considered ; some things don ’ t change . In the words of Michael Porter , the much-acclaimed author of The Competitive Advantage of Nations , and father of the modern industry cluster economic development theory , “ Nations succeed in particular industries because their home environment is the most forward-looking , dynamic , and challenging .” With the current climate of change , I take from this statement that it is the local community that will sustain , strengthen and even prepare for the future of our beloved aerospace manufacturing .

Over the years , aerospace has continually become more competitive globally as nations commit to strengthen this particular industry sector . Now , with a contraction of the industry , while it is a tough time , new innovations will emerge ; it is the natural course of things . Are you looking for those things ?
