The future of satellite competencies and constellation development is robust said Rider , “ BlackSky and LeoStella have a number of positions available and are hiring across disciplines within aerospace , mechanical , electrical , earth observation , and astronomy backgrounds .” Merski said there are opportunities on the engineering and business side of the companies as well .
Merski said about BlackSky , “ We ’ re a growing company and while recruiting and internships have been modest , there are engineering and other disciplines that are involved .” He said they hire a handful of interns every summer including interns on the business side of the company ( non-engineers ). He said that the companies like to include academia in projects and provide opportunities .
LeoStella , a company formed out of a need for rapid production of satellites , and the ability to continue to innovate , is creating a name for itself in low earth orbit , and artificial constellations and will continue to answer the call for the marketplace with space and earth exploration .
