Yakima city is home to CubCrafters . Inc . — a hugely successful private , light aircraft manufacturing business since 1980 — building light sport airplanes for over 35 years . As an overhaul facility , this innovative company specializes in replacement parts and modifications of the renowned Piper PA-18 Super Cub . CubCrafters replaces many aluminum parts with carbon fiber to lighten aircraft .
Yakima is also home to McCormick Air Center , a full-service FBO , AvFuel dealer , and provider of fuel , aviation maintenance , and flight instruction .
The PNAA community has such a diverse range of manufacturers and service companies , from the guys who can run repeat and standard parts to specialized “ one-off ” items — “ If it ’ s hard , we are the ones you come to .” There are many large-frame manufacturers to mention as well , but let ’ s look towards competitiveness and our workforce .
