I
ñurria said that they see opportunity
with Boeing’s New Midsize Airplane
(NMA) project, for which carbon
fiber is expected to be a predominate
material.
“MTorres is a top supplier for Boeing
in carbon fiber technology and auto-
mated solutions. As the months go by
the industry will learn more about this
airplane.

We are going to mind opportunities
— wings and fuselage structures and
components — carbon fiber can be
used for most every component on the
airplane,” Iñurria said.
When the NMA is ready to go, MTor-
res America will be ready. They have
developed pipelines for hiring with the
local community colleges.
They offer internships and at the head-
quarters in Spain, they offer contests
with LEGOs and Mechatronics. These
programs help students/future employ-
ees to compete and learn. Iñurria said
that they are working on other recruit-
ing tools, like those used in Spain, at
the Everett plant.
They also rely on employee referrals
for recommendations on who to hire.
