he headquarters of MTorres Group
is in Pamplona, Spain, the region known
for the “Running of the Bulls” at the
annual festival celebrating Saint Fermín,
which draws over one million people.
MTorres has been present in the United
States since the year 2000 with offices in
California. In 2012, MTorres America,
Inc. was founded in Washington State,
creating in 2017 a 70,000-square-foot fa-
cility with approximately 100 employees
in Everett, Washington.
They are optimistic about growth in the
Northwest, although they note that their
customers are both domestic and interna-
tional.
The company is well-established in the
aerospace, paper, and energy industries
and also offers naval solutions. Eighty
percent of its international business is in
the aerospace industry.
They seek to be, “Pioneers in innovation,
production and marketing of automated
systems for industrial processes,” accord-
ing to the website http://www.mtorres.es.
Founder D. Manuel Torres Martinez
has not retired from the company said
his son, Eduardo Torres, chairman of
MTorres America. He said his father is
still innovating, “He just turned 81 and
works every single day; he is having fun;
he is a very creative person and many of
the products and things that the company
does have originated with him. Today he
works in energy storage and is thinking
of new ideas for up to 50 years in the
future.”
Eduardo Torres was educated in Spain at
The University of Zaragoza, sometimes
referred to as Saragossa University. It was
founded in 1542, and is one of the oldest
universities in Spain, dating back to the
Roman period. Torres studied mechanical
engineering.

He said that he was only four years old when his father founded MTorres in
1975. “I grew up inside the company,” Torres said and noted that it was a
natural fit for him to become a part of the company. His sister Yolanda Tor-
res serves as vice president of the MTorres Group in Spain. He said that at
this time he isn’t sure if other family members will follow in their footsteps
and join the organization.
The Everett location provides them with a chance to “collaborate in
important areas of research and development, including the latest robotic
applications in the field of composite materials manufacturing, drilling and
filling and robot’s technology in assembly lines,” according to the company
website.
They are leading in automation of manufacturing processes, mainly in
composite materials.
