“They have been building engines
since 1906. We believe that using an
internal combustion engine will be
cheaper, quieter and easier to scale,
which will be a market advantage.
Turbine engines are loud, hot, and in-
credibility expensive. With this partner-
ship we can scale on a certified engine
platform with Continental.”
On the engineering services side, they are
profitable working with other eVTOL UAM
companies who want to bring their designs to
market when plenty of battery electrons be-
come commercially viable. Lindbergh added,
“All-battery (non-hybrid) eVTOL commercial
aircraft will be energy (or electron) constrained
for the next five to ten or more years.
“In order to achieve four 25-mile legs plus
reserves, they will need more electrons than
all-battery systems will provide. The aircraft
that are energy rich will be able to scale
quicker and achieve operational data sets for
commercial certification much quicker than
all-battery systems. Those companies that
want more energy/fuel/electrons to scale in the
eVTOL UAM market are our customers.”

World-changing innovation is happening with
Lindbergh and other private business leaders.
Lindbergh, like his father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather, has a sense of adventure,
but beyond that — a vision and willingness to
participate with others to create a quieter, more
resourceful and yet more powerful future.
