Diversification Creates Relationships

When you think of aerospace manufacturing , the first thing that may come to mind are machined aluminum or plastic injection parts . As we all know , there are so many other types of parts that are in the build up of an aircraft . Beyond the parts that we commonly think of , there are others essential to the construction of some of the most amazing machines on Earth — and that is where companies like Klinger IGI come in , to help make innovative designs reality . Pat Moody , Klinger IGI ’ s president , shares how their company helps put aerospace pieces together and their unique approach to working with their customers in the supply chain .

Klinger IGI is a build-to-print production company , specializing in precision material conversion and custom-cut 2D and 3D parts . Their fabrication capabilities include high-speed die cutting , water jetting , laser cutting , flash cutting , knife cutting , routing , and extrusion . They also do slitting of custom materials , tapes and adhesive-bonding systems to create the details that allow for assemblies to be built up .
Klinger IGI ’ s production facility and corporate office is in Wilsonville , Oregon , just a few miles south of Portland . From that location , they primarily serve customers in highly regulated industries within the Pacific Northwest , Southwest and Rocky Mountain regions . They also have an international presence , occasionally exporting production to several Asia Pacific countries . Today , Klinger IGI has about 40 employees , and has positioned supporting sales staff in Seattle , Denver , Salt Lake City , Boise , Portland and Mobile , Alabama .
