recent example of Element’s
commitment to providing relevant
aerospace services is the GE9X
engine. Expanded use of ceramic
matrix composites required a new
type of materials testing which Ele-
ment helped develop. Once testing
was complete, it allowed ceramics
to be used on the engine requiring
increased capacity of Element’s
hot air temperature and pressure
capabilities. They invested in
increasing bleed air temperature
test capabilities from 1300 to 1650
degrees Fahrenheit and increased
their pressure threshold from 500
to 1000 psi allowing them to assure
the safety of the new technology.
