“I felt like I should have been an
entrepreneur starting at age 21,”
Jorgenson said.
Jorgenson moved his business to Post Falls due to the
business-friendly climate in Idaho. There were incentives
for them to come to Idaho. “There’s no B&O tax here,”
he said. “We had more support from the state level, putting
a plant here. There were people who called us and said
that they would help us jump through regulatory hoops,”
Jorgenson added.
ATC Manufacturing became a Tier 1 Boeing supplier early
on due to Jorgenson’s experience in working with Boeing.
Jorgenson has been in Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho
since 1979. He was born in Forks, Washington and grew up
in Western Montana. His father was in the timber industry
there, and Jorgenson went to Montana State University for
engineering. He then lived in the Seattle area early in his
career and family life, and eventually made his way back to
Spokane.
