Boeing Continues to Support Suppliers
The legend of Bill Boeing is framed by two certainties – airplanes and the Pacific Northwest .
Since the first Boeing-built airplane made its world debut , Boeing has unreservedly maintained its position as the world ’ s aerospace leader .
But Boeing ’ s success wouldn ’ t be possible without the steadfast relationships that have existed for more than 100 years with our Pacific Northwest suppliers . And that remains the case today .
Boeing invests in a Pacific Northwest supply chain that supports jobs , helps build airplanes , and is part of the fabric of the community . We take pride that communities in the Pacific Northwest can point to any of our aircraft in the sky and proudly say they had a hand in its creation .

Vice President , Supply Chain Boeing Commercial Airplanes
In Washington state , where Bill Boeing founded his airplane startup in 1916 , more than 500 aerospace suppliers produce and supply critical components to Boeing Commercial Airplanes ( BCA ). That represents many people and a significant local economic impact – in 2021 , we spent more than $ 1.3 billion with Washington suppliers .
Boeing ’ s Pacific Northwest footprint extends beyond Washington . We have a longstanding commitment to suppliers in Oregon , Idaho and Montana . Last year , we worked with more than 100 suppliers from those states and spent nearly $ 100 million .
