There really is no better place in the world for you to connect with the world of aerospace for 2022 . The U . K . has the fourth-largest aerospace sector in the world , after the USA , France and Germany . The U . K .’ s priorities for aerospace remain at the forefront , targeting smaller companies within the U . K . and those considering the U . K . to raise their ambitions and their marketing skills in order to win contracts with the global aerospace giants . Huge opportunities therefore exist for Pacific Northwest aerospace businesses too . Boeing , for example , has a long-term partnership with the British government , which includes a supply-chain competitiveness charter and increasing bid opportunities for U . K . -based aerospace suppliers by working closely with the U . K . Department of International Trade .

Companies with a large presence in the British aerospace industry include BAE Systems , Cobham , GKN , Meggitt , QinetiQ , Rolls Royce . Other companies with a major presence in the U . K . include Boeing , Airbus , Bombardier , GE Aviation Systems , Lockheed Martin , Safran and Thales Group .
The big aerospace components in which the U . K . is a leader , be it engines or the wings on commercial aircraft , are significant long-term investments that global companies have made in Britain . The U . K . is also seeking support for broadening the supply chain including earlier-stage companies — in sustainable aviation , for example — which may not yet be ready for close mentoring from the prime contractors .
