If you think about it , the disciplines of music and computing are very similar . The linear writing of musical notes and orchestrating the sounds of multiple instruments to create a melody with a distinct beginning , middle , and end translates very easily to the bits and bytes of data management – getting information from point A to point B in a linear and logical order with a distinct beginning , middle , and end . I think that ’ s what drew me to it . My passion for teaching and experience in a classroom also helps my team mentoring and leadership abilities .

So here I am , working with Astound for almost nine years now . Over that time , I ’ ve seen Northwest Washington grow . I ’ ve watched Paine Field evolve from a tiny landing strip to a fully capable airport serving the area north of Seattle , with the ability to land Boeing Dreamliners . I ’ ve witnessed an entire community of commercial aerospace and now true space exploration companies spring up across the greater Everett area , developing everything from software and new composite materials to precision parts for the next-generation of commercial and military aircraft .
Supporting them are aerospace suppliers , engineering , and manufacturing companies , including some of the state ’ s largest employers , that create the tools , molds , and prototypes aerospace companies need to innovate .
