Nikki Malcom has a tremendous passion for the aerospace and defense industry. She enjoys looking up into the sky and seeing the incredible machines that this industry produces; it gives her immense pride. She has spent the entire 21 years of her professional aerospace career in dynamic sales roles— supporting organizations with materials, testing and manufacturing. She established NFM Enterprises, born out of passion for connecting others within the industry. NFM connects buyers with fast, quality manufacturing services and offers effective sales coaching and strategy.
Joanna Boatwright is the new aerospace international trade specialist with the Small Business Export Assistance Team for the Washington State Department of Commerce. Joanna joins the team with over 10 years of experience working in the aerospace industry, cultivating extensive connections and nurturing strong relationships within the aerospace supply chain community. With expertise in business development, project management, planning, and marketing Joanna will be focusing on supporting small and medium-sized Washington aerospace businesses on entering or expanding into foreign markets.
Dale King is the director of economic development for the city of Mountain Home, Idaho, just down the I-84 Aerospace Corridor from Micron( Boise). Dale leads the city’ s business recruitment and expansion, with a primary focus on aerospace and advanced manufacturing. Boeing projects passenger traffic and the global fleet to double over the next 20 years. Dale is positioning Mountain Home as a pragmatic business solution to capacity-and-growth issues for aerospace manufacturers and suppliers looking for room to scale in a favorable business climate. A critical key to this is pairing“ easy access to City officials” with an expedited process to get the business doors open faster.
Kayla Coffee is the CEO and president at Aerospace Futures Alliance( AFA). She works with the AFA Board of Directors to formulate and prioritize industry issues and initiatives to strengthen the entire aerospace industry in Washington and to establish strategic plans for implementation. She oversees all daily operations of AFA, including legislative advocacy, industry outreach, workforce and job creation initiatives, budgeting, finance and administration.
Emerald Dumas is a creative director and designer who has spent more than 17 years turning big ideas into eye‐catching art. Her award-winning work includes the 2022 Bloomsday Run Finisher Shirt and the Spokane Hoopfest YouTube logo. Skilled in editorial, logo and brand design, and illustration, Emerald also manages websites and campaigns seamlessly. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking Spokane’ s trails with her husband and two dogs, and supporting her community.
Dean Cameron is CEO of Top Drawer Media, publishers of Northwest Aerospace News. He has been an aerospace marketing professional for the past 38 years with experience in engineering and design, as well as numerous manufacturing disciplines.
Ann Contois is a copy editor and proofreader for Top Drawer Media, as well as a writer and artist with decades of experience herding the feral cats of literary lapses into a semblance of domesticated coherence. Punctuation, acronyms and logical clarity all soon purr contentedly together under her watchful eye. Ann’ s editing skills and attention to detail were honed by world travel with her nomadic military family; the rigors of the UC Berkeley English department; her 45 years as a stained glass artist; and by early immersion creating WWW content. She now resides in the beautiful Northwest, a place that embodies her childhood dream to“ slip the surly bonds of Earth and dance the skies on laughter-silvered wings”- along with those unruly cats!
