As our cover cleverly depicts( thank you Rebecca), we have had a continuous run of obstacles in our path to get back on track with supporting a vibrant industry in need of our manufacturing resources.
Many have been tripped up and are not able to continue the race; that is entirely understood, given the magnitude of the hurdles. To those who have hung on … congratulations!
Stalwart perseverance is laudable but our course is still difficult— financing, an ongoing labor roller coaster, the“ what’ s next” mindset— all have unfolding impact on how we approach today and tomorrow with our best reasoning and decisions.
The one piece of advice I can give based upon my 38 years in the manufacturing world is:“ You only lose when you quit.” Stay visible, be aggressive with your outreach, look for ways within your means to expand your offering and add value to struggling clients who are facing the same hurdles you are. The more you help them, the more likely they are to rely on you— not just for support today, but also to reward you in a better future, since you will have earned their trust.
