Rising to New Challenges Industry demands and new changes are aspects of business that Le Friec is accustomed to. “The finishing industry is very difficult and gets more demanding all the time,” Le Friec notes. Mastering the required processes, earning and maintaining certifications, and achieving high quality in finishing are all challenging for companies to accomplish and Novation takes those challenges seriously. Growing Capabilities Novation’s 40,000 square foot facility provides a one-stop shop for commercial finishing and much of the finishing needs of aero- space manufacturers. Currently, Novation offers a variety of finishing processes such as anodize, plating, paint, powder coat and non-destructive testing. Le Friec says they also continue to add new offerings to meet market demands, and gain new certifications as well. As much as possible, Novation listens to the marketplace and seeks out new opportunities to offer their customers more. In aerospace, this means being prepared to adapt to a changing regulatory environ- ment, new production needs, and strict timelines. Novation’s Type I, 1B, Type II, Type III and Boric Sulfuric anodize capabilities include many die colors along with bright dip processing. Novation’s masking department personnel represents over 35 years of masking experience. 42 NORTHWEST AEROSPACE NEWS
