PACIFIC NORTHWEST AEROSPACE ALLIANCE SPOTLIGHT
S
taton gave another example of a customer
locally with whom Capture 3D was able to work
alongside to increase their throughput rate by 75
percent, simply by switching their systems and
then optimizing the process within the system
switch.
“To put some rough numbers on it, the CMM
time for this part was running at about 23 hours;
we’ve gotten that down to less than 45 minutes.”
How are the results achieved?
Part of how this was accomplished was through
Capture 3D’s customer service approach. They
strive to keep in mind that a lot of their custom-
ers are making parts for someone else, and they
work with the customer to ensure that they are
accomplishing what the customer needs inter-
nally, and also developing a system with the
end customers’ needs in mind. To do this they
evaluate, refine, and streamline the whole process
during implementation of the new system.
“…it’s hard to put a price on having a team
that’s genuinely dedicated not just on the sales
side but dedicated from the demo of the system,
to the implementing of the system, to developing
a process, to being there to support the system
through the line. If companies aren’t making
parts, they’re not making money. So, if our sys-
tem is in that process it needs to be up, and the
up time is extremely critical.”
So whether you’re an OEM or a small manufacturing business with a foot in aero-
