The Future is Now
My wife Pamela and I had the extreme pleasure of helping to care for my grand-
father in his last years. We would visit and cook dinner for him several times
a week and listen to the stories he would share about his life and growing up
in rural North Dakota. I was amazed at what he saw in his lifetime, from riding
horseback into town and pumping water from a well, to cell phones and com-
puters and space travel. I thought that no other generation would experience
so much dramatic change. I was wrong.
Not only is technology changing and innovation the beneficiary, it is doing so
at breakneck speed. We read daily about new innovations in manufacturing
and the resulting progress in areas like space travel, UAV and better-perform-
ing aircraft. Technology is barely futuristic before it becomes reality, as we see
working prototypes of self-landing rocket boosters and electric airplanes and
driverless vehicles.
Sometimes the new technology is not as visible as what we see on the news,
but it is certainly visible and necessary for the numerous forward-thinking
companies that employ better, faster and more efficient means of bringing their
products to the marketplace.
So, what is next? It is hard to tell but let me assure you that we are looking
in all the niches and corners and finding some of the most mind-blowing new
technology the aerospace manufacturing industry has ever seen, right here in
the Pacific Northwest — and we will be sure to tell you all about it.
Stay tuned,
Dean Cameron
