T
oday, veterans make up approxi-
mately 15 percent of Boeing’s workforce
– both globally and here in the Pacific
Northwest. The time they spent in service
of their country instilled a unique set of
values and skills that strengthen Boeing’s
innovative legacy as an aerospace leader.

The courage, leadership, integrity, and
critical thinking Boeing’s veterans add
to their teams is an invaluable addition
to our company. It is just a small part of
why Boeing has hired and trained more
than 9,000 veterans since 2011.
Our commitment to men and women
transitioning out of uniform does not stop
there. Each year, Boeing and its employ-
ees support more than 800 military and
veteran events, programs, and organiza-
tions that offer critical skill training and
workforce transition support.
Boeing also proudly announced a $5
million donation to expand the United
Service Organizations’ Pathfinder Pro-
gram last year. This comprehensive em-
ployment readiness program is the first of
its kind for service members entering the
civilian workforce. Boeing’s investment
will support more than 210,000 veterans
looking for non-military jobs in the next
three years.
In 2017, Boeing and our employees
contributed $17 million to veterans’ ini-
tiatives. Employee giving and a commit-
ment to those who serve is at the core of
who we are as a company and workforce,
in the Pacific Northwest and across the
country.
That commitment does not stop at the
front door. Boeing veteran employees
who join the Boeing Employee Veterans
Association at thirteen company sites
can help us expand the company’s
outreach to veteran communities –
through partnerships that honor and
support veterans and their families.
We know that veterans make us better
– they deliver the courage, leadership,
and integrity that ensure the work we
do matters. Through their work, and
our commitment, we can continue
making a difference every day.
Every year, The
Boeing Classic
honors the men
and women who
serve our country
with Military
Appreciation Day
on the final day of
the tournament.
