The importance of the Insitu contract to the Coast
Guard and to the State of Washington
The contract is great for Insitu and for the Coast Guard.
“The sUAS have already proven to be a transformational
technology, and the deployment of this capability to the
entirety of the NSC fleet is an incredibly important first
step in realizing the Coast Guard’s vision of fleet-wide
sUAS implementation,” said Commander Daniel Broad-
hurst, who served as unmanned aircraft systems division
chief in the Office of Aviation Forces. “The Coast Guard
is excited to award the contract for the service’s first
class-wide sUAS to Insitu.”
Tremain added that for Insitu, “The Coast Guard is a
significant maritime customer; we are proud to support
them and their missions. It allows us to conduct missions
that are important to the founders of Insitu.”
The ScanEagle is a product that can make Washing-
tonians proud
Much like the bald eagle, our much-revered national
bird, Insitu’s ScanEagle offers residents of Washington
something to be proud of in national security — monitor-
ing safety for the residents of our great country.
