hile Aerocet sells to many
manufacturers — Cessna, Piper, De
Havilland among them — they still
provide a great many floats, pods,
fairings and other items to Quest.
“Our competitor (Wipaire) built
floats for the Quest Kodiak —
they got to the deadline before we
did even though we designed the
aircraft. When we actually fin-
ished our installation we were 350
pounds lighter — and they were
aluminum and we’re composite,”
Hojan said.
Sales are conducted through a
variety of distribution channels.
“There are areas specific to dealers
and there are areas that are open to
Aerocet,” Hojan said.
There are overlap areas, as well.
“Our largest market for the longest
time was Alaska,” Hojan said. “For
a period of time overseas overshad-
owed that actually, especially in
Japan.”
That’s due to the company that pur-
chased Quest — Setouchi Holdings,
part of the Tsuneishi Group — is
Japanese, and started their own
seaplane operation.

Congratulations
AJAC Class of 2018!
Aerocet is a privately held company
and does not disclose sales figures.
However, “I will say that we are
growing; we are definitely grow-
ing,” Hojan confirmed. That goes
for both the OEM and specialty
elements.
“The company is still looking at
international growth and with new
product design, innovation is going
to be key to making sure that we
continue to be the Ferrari of floats,”
Hojan said.
