AEROSPACE FUTURES ALLIANCE SPOTLIGHT
“Our representatives had a lot of
fun (though they were exhausted by
the end of it!)” reported a representative
from LeoStella — the state-of-theart
small satellite design and manufacturing
company in Tukwila.
“This was definitely a win for us,”
shared a recruiter from LAUNCH Industrial,
a technical workforce staffing
group for aviation, aerospace, industrial,
and ground transportation jobs. “We
had 48 booth visitors and out of those,
probably 35 are viable candidates that
we can work with. In addition to the
people who visited our booth, we also
received emailed resumes from many
other candidates.”
Every employer surveyed reported a successful experience finding talent to fill
their open positions during the Job Fair. Job placement, however, was just one of
AFA’s intended outcomes for the event.
A Job Fair in the midst of an economic downturn reminds our community that
aerospace manufacturing is the foundation of our state’s economy. It has offered
family wage jobs to Washingtonians for over 100 years and will continue to for
many more.
AFA is seeking additional employers to participate in a future virtual hiring
event. Companies interested in participating in a job fair or supporting the mission
of the AFA should contact Emly Wittman at [email protected] .
