Virtual Aerospace Job Fair Showcases Local Talent, Local Jobs in the Industry

In June, the Aerospace Futures Alliance held an unexpected, and to some, an unconventional
event for the times: A Job Fair. With statewide unemployment trending
towards 15 percent, were there really jobs to be had, especially in aerospace?
Absolutely. Thousands of them, in fact.

According to the Washington State’s Employment Security Department (ESD),
three aerospace companies ranked in the top 25 employers with active job openings
for May 2020. Between King and Snohomish counties, The Boeing Company was
searching for 466 new hires. Safran was seeking to fill 55 open positions in Snohomish
County and Blue Origin in Kent was looking for 508 new team members. Many
other employers – in design, production, maintenance, and more – were also hiring,
posting new opportunities on employment search engines each week.
