Northwest Aerospace News April | May Issue No.20 | Page 46

From this data , we see that 93 aerospace manufacturing employers in Washington state received PPP loans , preserving over 3,500 jobs . These aerospace employers were those with the resources and opportunity to apply for the program during April and May 2020 . A program administered by the U . S . Department of Transportation exclusively for the aerospace industry would expand the pipeline of potential beneficiaries significantly and preserve even more jobs .

At the time of writing , the program is part of on-going negotiations for President Biden ’ s American Rescue Plan . AFA will continue to advocate for industry supportive policy like the Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection proposal . I invite you to congratulate our Pacific Northwest leaders on their promotions to committee chair and thank them for their continued advocacy on our behalf .
