The refreshing piece of all of this ? No gas , no emissions .
Eviation ’ s Alice is a nine-passenger aircraft built for fast trip , all-electric commutes . It is named for Alice in Wonderland , the Lewis Carroll narrator who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy land of fascinating characters .
The aircraft , however , is anything but a fantasy vision . The website , http :// www . eviation . com , demonstrates what most people view as a luxury aircraft only for the extraordinarily rich . However , Ganzarski said , it is not so . He does not see the aircraft flying with wealthy executives to Las Vegas , although they will probably want to as well , but more about families , individual business travelers , students , and others who need to get from point A to point B with affordability and ease .
To be clear , the airlines purchasing the aircraft are still investing in a fleet at expected commuter airplane prices . But Ganzarski said that maintenance is significantly lower .
magniX provides the motor and propulsion for the Alice . The magniX company products include the magni250 , magni500 and magniDrive . The magni250 is described as , “ Producing 375 HP , the magni250 is well-suited to power smaller aircraft as a stand-alone propulsion system , or as part of a distributed propulsion system on a larger aircraft such as the Eviation , Alice 9-passenger aircraft .” The magni250 weighs 156 pounds and has a maximum speed of 3000 RPMs .
