One thing that has been important to Harper is retention of employees , even during the virus and economic downturn . They have maintained 80 employees , which they say is most of their staff , by using Washington ’ s Shared Work program , which allows people to stay on at reduced hours to avoid layoffs . Employees can earn partial unemployment benefits while still contributing to the bottom line and being an important part of the team .
“ We know there will be a rebound in the market and we want our team ready and able to come back to Harper .
