der to do business in the industry; others are a part of ongoing
learning and investment in the heat treating community.
Original operator and founder of Stack Heat Treating (1972),
Harold Stack passed away after living to be 103. Said Beaumi-
er, “He was quite the icon. He mentored owner Dave Ederer
for 30 to 40 years and brought a certain level of integrity and
quality to the business. Harold wanted to ensure those quali-
ties were retained since the business carried his name. He last
visited when he was 99 years old.”
Current owner Dave Ederer is the consummate entrepreneur;
Beaumier guessed that he has purchased and/or operates
around 30 to 40 companies. He said they don’t see Dave every
day, as he is approaching 80 years old, but he is still involved
in the business. Doug Puerta, CEO, operates the business with
a corporate team located in Portland, Oregon.
