Photo Credit: The Boeing Company T he 777-8 also has the capacity to provide more revenue to op- erators through more payload and improved fuel efficiency at both short and long ranges. The 777-8 offers both range and payload — without any tradeoff —maximizing its value to operators.   The new 777X family also combines the best of the passenger-pre- ferred 777 and 787 Dreamliner cabins, with new innovations to deliver the flight experience of the future. Passengers will enjoy a wide, spacious cabin, large overhead bins that close easily for con- venient access, larger windows for more natural light, better cabin altitude and humidity, less noise and a smoother ride.   With the flight test phase of our rigorous 777X test program now underway, our first dedicated flight test airplane, WH001, is set to test the airplane’s avionics, stability and control systems. In the months ahead, three further flight test airplanes will join the fleet, WH002, WH003 and WH004, all of which will be subjected to a comprehensive series of tests on the ground and in the air to demon- strate the safety and reliability of the design.    Boeing expects to deliver the first 777X in 2021. Since its launch, the family has outsold the competition nearly two to one, with 340 orders and commitments from leading carriers around the world: ANA, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Be sure to look out for the 777X in the skies of the Pacific Northwest over the months ahead. 20 NORTHWEST AEROSPACE NEWS Learn more at: w w w . w a t c h u s f l y . c o m
