PACIFIC NORTHWEST DEFENSE COALITION SPOTLIGHT
T
hrough PNDC’s efforts in 2018,
over 80 businesses met with DHS
officials, including some one-on-one
meetings and tours of area businesses.
The invitation has been extended to
middle and upper managers, business
development and contracting officers
from primes and subcontractors in
industries that support, or seek to sup-
port, all DHS agencies.
The 2019 event is open to aerospace
and defense contractors and will be
held in two locations – June 4, in
Seattle, and June 6, in Portland. This
event offers opportunities and connec-
tions to highlight innovative products
and services directly to DHS officials.
DHS is looking for suppliers that can
solve big challenges with solutions in
areas of unmanned vehicles (air, land
and underwater), artificial intelligence,
cybersecurity, optics, first-responder
medical technology, tactical equipment
and apparel, emergency manage-
ment supplies, and more. Suppliers
can make connections with DHS’s
Strategic Sourcing Program Office,
Transportation Security Administration
(TSA), Federal Emergency Man-
agement Agency (FEMA), the Coast
Guard and the Science and Technology
Directorate.
Moe said he will attend again and
added, “Hopefully it will increase
our scanner sales. We need to educate
the marketplace to very real security
threats. We hear about cybersecurity
and issues of hacking and appreciate
the opportunity to educate DHS and
others to new security threats and let
them know there is solution.”
