PACIFIC NORTHWEST DEFENSE COALITION SPOTLIGHT
L
uckily, as members of the
Pacific Northwest Defense Coali-
tion (PNDC), Moe heard about their
Department of Homeland Security
conference in 2018. Since 2015,
PNDC has invited high ranking DHS
procurement officers to make the trip
from Washington D.C. to the Pacific
Northwest to connect with innova-
tive companies that are interested in
selling to DHS agencies. “We do a
lot of work for the military and other
government agencies. We appreciate
when they bring in different govern-
ment agencies from Washington D.C.
to meet with businesses in our area,”
said Moe.
At the conference, ID Integration
was introduced to the Department of
Homeland Security (DHS) where they
were able to demonstrate and discuss
the risks, and their solution. Moe said,
“This is emerging technology, and it
is a topic that is not well-known, so
Homeland was interested. Homeland
was able to direct us to prime con-
tractors and at their suggestion, we
became small business vendors. This
PNDC event was a great way to meet
with Homeland Security officials.”
The Pacific Northwest Defense
Coalition (PNDC) is welcoming the
Department of Homeland Security
(DHS) procurement officials to the
Pacific Northwest again this June. The
event is titled, “Northwest Homeland
Security Conference – Meet the Buyer
and Innovation Summit.”
As a government liaison who has
attended the event in the past, Jaclyn
Smyth, a Homeland Security Manag-
er for Strategic Sourcing, said, “We
always look forward to meeting the
innovative companies in the Pacific
Northwest.
In my role as a Government-wide Category Manager for Security and Protection
as well as my role as Director of DHS’s Strategic Sourcing Program Office, it is
vital to understand what cutting edge products and services exist in the market-
place and how they can benefit DHS’s mission. We appreciate PNDC’s invitation
to come to Washington and Oregon, once again this year, and look forward to
meeting with companies to learn more about their capabilities.”
PNDC’s mission is to bring more defense and security contracts to the
Pacific Northwest and to support the supply chain for these companies. PNDC’s
President and CEO, Sarah Garrison said, “To accomplish our goals we focus on
providing market intelligence, access, and support. The Homeland Security event
is a perfect example of addressing all three of these areas.”
