EMPLOYER-DEMANDED OCCUPATIONS AJAC’s programs are designed to meet the needs of local employers in real time. Each occupation is strategically developed to ensure on-the-job competencies and classroom instruction to produce a skilled worker that can produce in today’s robust manufacturing industry. Employers can have access to eight occupations to jump-start their skill-shortage needs. Adults 18 years or older can enroll in machining, metal fabri- cation, industrial maintenance, tool and die, plastic injection molding, and manufacturing technician. These programs range from 18 months to five years. AJAC apprentices are employed full time and are able to apply their classroom learning on the job daily, increasing their skills and becoming incre- mentally more productive for employers while in the program. At the end of each program, employ- ers are rewarded with a loyal, skilled worker while the apprentice earns a journey-level certification recognized across the country.
